Refrigerator Replace Door Hinge Parts

Replaced upper and lower thimble's, lever arm, cam closure. Door stop was not the problem, but ordered it and replaced it too. The door of course has to come off, remove the top hinge, and lift it away. Lubricated moving parts with silicone spray. Be sure and put the door back in the open position, so the lever arm and cam closure can properly interact, then close the door. Remove the plastic grate at the bottom to get at the lever arm. Presto. Problem gone. Don't put excessive weight... Read more

The right door on our Jenn Air French Door Refrigerator would pop open & not fully close when the left door was closed first. I did not have the model number of the refrigerator! I looked everywhere, but I think it had been ripped off. This left me with the difficult task of trying to look through pictures of dairy doors and freezer shelves, armed with only the approximate dimensions of the pieces. I had to replace the entire ice Bin Assembly rather than just the plastic fin on the auger which broke. I could not find a way to buy the plastic fin only. Replacement was obviously easy -- pull the old bin out and slide the new bin in. Less than 1 minute. The Dairy Door was an easy replacement also. I ordered the door stops (or door cams) for both the fridge and freezer and the hinge bearings. I figured I might as well do both if I'm going to do one. Very easy. Watched a YouTube video. Got a link to the site to order the parts. All you need is a screwdriver and ratchet. Done in 30 minutes. Read more

Replaced both sets of door cams on my Kenmore Elite Refrigerator. The most important thing to know is that you DO NOT have to remove the doors from the refrigerator to replace BOTH sets of cams. You just have to remove the lower grill which is a snap fit (I also turned off the water and unplugged the unit). My fridge has an ice and water dispenser where the water and electrical lines go through the cams on the left side. Be sure to order the correct parts as the cam holes on the freezer side... Watched your very helpful and informative "how to" video and replaced both right and left hinges. Getting the front panel to line up on the clips was the most difficult part. Read more
