Washer Dryer Combo Timer Control Knob Parts
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WE04X22654
The Timer is an OEM part for GE electric dryers. It serves as the critical control module that monitors and regulates dryer cycle times during functions like regular, wrinkle guard, fluff and more.
Causes of a bad timer include failure of internal electronic components or wiring connections due to prolonged exposure to heat and vibration inside the dryer cylinder. Mechanical wear of buttons or dials used to program cycles may occur as well over time.
Symptoms of a bad Timer include:
- Inability to set or change desired drying times accurately
- Premature stopping or starting of cycles without user input
- Faulty time or status display windows during use
- Complete shut down requiring manual override or reset
The GE OEM part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA and select Kenmore models.

Dryer timer would not turn and knob broke from the strain Bruce B. • Birmingham , AL • October 17, 2014
I ordered the timer and knob on Monday, they arrived around noon on Tuesday, and within an hour I had them installed and back in business. I was amazed how quickly the parts got here. The online video showing the procedure step by step was very helpful. Instead of disconnecting all the wires and having to keep up with which one went where, I moved each wire one by one and made sure I didn't get any of them in the wrong place. The only thing that slowed me down a bit was seeing which side of the...

Remove the 2 screws that hold on the front cover just above the washer, the control board is in front of you. Remove the 2 small screws that secure the board, they are star screws, very small ones, do not drop them, for they will fall into the washer tub. Take a picture of the wiring harness, press the 2 tabs on each side of the board, left and right side, the board will pop out. replace the wiring harness, wiring harness has tabs that hold them in place. Also, check the magnetic lid switch,...

The timer had stopped advancing William S. • Arlington , TX • April 03, 2017
With a Phillips screw driver, on the back of the control panel there was about 6 or 7 screws to undo, to take the cover off and 2 screws holding the timer in place. Just undone those, took out old timer, made sure I took wires from old timer one at a time, and, put on new timer. Put everything back, although I had to find a couple of very small washers to make the timer fit tight, in the 2 holes it came out of. Luckily I had those or would of been a very loose timer. Very easy to do.
