The ice dispenser chute door had not been sealing for years. The ice cubes on the lower portion of the ice bin would melt enough eventually to then freeze up into a big, amalgamated blob of ice due to ambient air coming up the chute. Easy to remove the metal parts from the old bin. The only problem was that the screw that holds the adapter has red thread locker and screwdriver rounded off the head of the screw. Drilled the screw and heated the screw to loosen the thread locker and used an ease out to remove the screw. Read more

The Handle Set Screw is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. As an internal component, the set screw is used to securely hold refrigerator door handles in place for easy opening and closing of access doors.
Symptoms of a bad handle set screw include:
Causes involve wear from repeated use or accidental tightening damage stripping threads and allowing handle loosening, affecting usability.
