After reviewing the 'how to' video on AppliancePartsPros.com, I unplugged the refrigerator and removed the back cover to access the motor. I then unplugged the wiring and removed the bad motor. I cut the clip plug and wired it to the new motor, installed the fan blade from the old motor and re-installed the new motor. SO I FIGURED THAT ALL THE MECHANICAL PARTS OF IT WERE FINE SO THE LOGICAL THING TO DO WAS TO REPLACE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WHICH CONSISTED OF THE THERMOSTAT {THE BRAIN} AND THE CONTROL MODULE WHICH I PURCHASED AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE . Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy. The drain pan (Tray-Evaporator Pan) was cracked in 2 places. We had to remove the front panel. Loosen the bracket that holds the water filter. Take off the back panel and disconnect the bracket that holds the selenoid. It was not necessary to unhook the water lines, just the bracket. It was not easy to remove the old pan and get the new one in, but holding the water filter, with the bracket intact, as far to the left side of the refrigerator as possible gave us the room to get the pan in. ... This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model ED22PWXBW01. A year ago, the ice cubes started freezing together in the rear of the ice bin for no apparent reason.
