Replaced clutch assembly which was a little tricky, but very doable. Just make sure to take your time. I do have to say that I am very impressed with AppliancePartsPro customer service when the replacement part also failed. A new clutch assembly was at my door step a few days later. I have a 25 year old Kenmore washer that works well and didn't want to get a new washer as they don't make them like they used to. Upon removing the top cap of the agitator and doing an inspection, the agitator dogs were completely broken into pieces. Due to age we decided to replace the lower and upper agitator along with the agitator auger dogs repair kit. All new parts and works fine. On inspection of old parts, we probably could have gotten away with just a $5 repair for the plastic... Read more

I noticed that the inside part of the timer knob was made of plastic. I searched the internet for a replacement knob. I came across AppliancePartsPros.com. Replaced direct drive washer pump, the wash tub gasket and the fill hose. I also replaced the direct drive motor coupling since the rubber was deteriorated. Removing the inner wash tub for the gasket change is challenging, especially in older machines. 24 hours before starting the removal, spray penetrating oil around the lip of the washer drive block. I had to replace the drive shaft and the lower agitator. The motor coupling was also worn out. The repair was challenging because I had to rebuild the gear box. This step was really messy and I had to wait for the liquid gasket to set prior to completing the repair. Cleaning and prep of all of the parts tripled the repair time. Read more

I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze. Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) Ordered the lid switch and it was an easy repair. A $14.00 switch was a lot cheaper than a $450.00 washer. Thanks appliance parts... Read more

Removed the screws, lifted the old lid out of the hinges. Replaced the hinges, set new lid in the hinges and replaced screws. Read more
