Fix a washer that won't fill, overfills, or leaks when idle by replacing the water inlet valve. Most DIYers complete this repair in 15-60 minutes.
The error code indicated the washer wasn't getting any water, although the basket was filling to an unusually high level. After checking the inlet hoses and their connections but without opening the top cover to see the actual water level pressure switch, I went ahead and ordered the part. After receiving the switch, I opened the cover and found the original switch had fallen off it's mounting (for who-knows how long ago) and was resting against the drum. Over time, the movement of the drum... Read more

Our washing machine door boot seal was getting moldy and causing odor problems. Cleaning tablets and bleach weren't helping so it was time to be replaced. While I had the top and front off I changed all the hoses that could be collecting soap scum and mold, all other wetted parts were removed and washed. The video on the door boot seal, and inlet valve assembly were extremely helpful in understanding how these parts are removed and reassembled. Although the door boot seal is the most visible... Hi, it's me again. So I learned a valuable appliance repair lesson when trying to fix this washing machine: don't fix something until you figure out why it broke in the first place! The first speed control board died (fixed with my last story on year) and I assumed it was just a cheap part of something, but I was in fact proved wrong when, to my dismay, the new board died a week or so later. Being the self-appointed washing machine expert I became after the last repair, I got right into the... Read more

Googled the problem, watched videos on Youtube. Took apart machine and tried cleaning filter most people said was the problem. Wasn't anything but a penny in it so that wasn't the problem. I decided the pump must be bad ,the spring for the bellows and the console were broken so I bought those as well. Got the parts put them on and machine filled up with water turned over a few times and then stopped. The only thing else it could be is the fill level sensor or the main circuit board. Ordered... This is the lower access panel, also called a toe panel, that attaches to the front bottom of the washer. It covers the internal components beneath the drum area and provides a finished appearance. Replace this panel if it is dented, cracked, rusted, or if the mounting tabs are broken, leaving the lower portion of the machine exposed.
Watched the video a few times for door boot seal replacement. It was a lot of help! The spring is the hardest to replace and I did enlist the help of my wife. Everything went back on great. If you have to replace the front panel (with the buttons) be mindful that the buttons are spring loaded and will come out. I did not lose any and it went back together just fine. A little touch up paint on the washer and it all looks brand new and works great. And the parts came in quicker than... Read more
