Water Level Float
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10195036

The Water Level Float is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It helps regulate the water level within the dishwasher by rising with the water level and signaling the control board to shut off the water inlet valve when the appropriate level is reached.

Causes of a bad water level float can include wear and tear, mineral buildup or debris obstructing its movement, or damage due to mishandling. Over time, these issues can prevent the float from moving freely or accurately signaling the water level.

Symptoms of a bad water level float include:

  • Dishwasher overfilling or underfilling
  • Water leaks during the wash cycle
  • The dishwasher not completing cycles correctly
  • Error codes related to water level issues

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Nut
Genuine Whirlpool part

Nut

By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10195038

The Nut is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. This nut secures the float switch, a key component in regulating the water level within the dishwasher. The float switch ensures your dishwasher does not overfill by triggering the water to stop once it reaches a certain level.

Over time and with regular use, the nut that holds the float switch in place can become loose or damaged. This could potentially allow water to seep through gaps, leading to leaks, or could cause the float switch to malfunction, affecting the dishwasher's ability to regulate water levels accurately.

Symptoms of a faulty Nut include:

  • Water leaks from the base of the dishwasher
  • The dishwasher overfills or underfills
  • Unusual noises during operation

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Hinge-Door
Genuine Whirlpool part

Part Number: W11806565

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher door popping opening   Paul M. • Chester , NJ • November 04, 2018

We scoured the web and there are few references to this so I want to add it in case it helps. Replacing hinges solved the popping opening issue. We could not solve our dishwasher door issue after a number of other tries: Latch, Catch, Ropes that attach to the springs that pull the door closed. I tend to believe the solve could be different b/c all these things work together. But for us, we were skeptical that the hinge swap would work and we were very pleasantly surprised. Read more

Diverter Motor
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W10155344

The Diverter Motor is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It controls the movement of the diverter disc, which directs water flow to different spray arms during the wash cycle. This ensures that all areas of the dishwasher receive adequate water pressure for effective cleaning.

Causes of a bad diverter motor can include electrical malfunctions, wear and tear from frequent use, or damage from water exposure. A faulty diverter motor can prevent the proper distribution of water, leading to poor cleaning performance.

Symptoms of a bad diverter motor include:

  • Dishes not being cleaned properly
  • Unusual noises coming from the dishwasher during operation
  • The dishwasher not advancing through cycles correctly
  • Water not reaching all areas of the dishwasher

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Note: Includes wire harness WPW10083167, Drain cap part number WPW10193605, and the shaft seal has been incorporated into sump housing, not available separately.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking from the bottom of the dishwasher   Chuck H. • Rochester Hills , MI • October 17, 2015

Removed and replaced diverter motor. Ops check good, no more leaking. I'm guessing the seal was the problem but diverter ruined (water residue) from leaking over the last 5 years??? This seal is only available if you buy the tub so followed another review - removed diverter then gently pried out the seal, cleaned and then lubed with silicone grease. Also turned the seal 180 degrees or the opposite way before reinstalling the diverter and then wrapping it all back under the counter. Read more

Dishwasher Lower Spray Arm
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10195601

This is the lower spray arm that mounts at the bottom of the dishwasher tub and rotates during the wash cycle to distribute water across the dishes on the lower rack. It has multiple spray nozzles that direct pressurized water for effective cleaning. Replace this part if dishes on the bottom rack are not getting clean, the arm is cracked, warped, or the spray holes are clogged beyond cleaning.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking at the bottom of the door   Michael R. • Warren , NJ • July 05, 2016

Replaced the spray arm assembly. I found out BY ACCIDENT that this was the problem. I accidentally loosened the spray arm while checking the filters. The next load of dishes washed without any leaks, but after the load completed I noticed that the spray arm had fallen off. I read somewhere else that a cracked sprayer could cause this leaking condition as the water is sprayed in areas where it shouldn't be sprayed and there isn't any protection. Sure enough, close inspection of the spray... Read more
