I ordered new seals from AppliancePartsPros.com. Finding the right seals was very easy, all based on model number of the appliance. While looking my unit over for other signs of wear, I noticed that a repair done by the prior homeowner to the lower wash arm was done improperly: a seal there was set protruding from the cover, the cover was missing screws, and the arm was missing the upper bushing. So I ordered a new seal, the missing screws, and both the top and bottom bushings (just to be... Read more

Maytag Dishwasher (about 5 years old). Some of the buttons had stopped functioning. Then the Start button began choosing whether or not to work. Eventually it would not start at all. Upon removing the control panel, the first thing I noticed was that the brackets that hold the two lower screws were broken. (So this was the reason that the door was so hard to open from the time it was new.) I trouble shot the thermal fuse, the door-latch switches, and inspected the control board trying to find... I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze. I was very proud of myself, as a woman, that I fixed this problem myself and didnt have to pay a repair... Read more
