Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Slow water delivery from dispenser on door   Robert G. • Baton Rouge , LA • August 16, 2015

First I replaced the filter thinking it was the problem, but that was not the case. Next was replace water supply valve at the back of the refrigerator. It was very easy. The only thing that was in question was how to get the refrigerator side line off of the existing valve. There is a plastic slide clip that you remove and pull the line out and press the line back into the port it came out of. It was a very simple project and took about 20 minutes. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lg french door referigerator/ freezer error code er dh   Matthew W. • Columbus , NJ • November 20, 2014

Replaced defrost sensor in freezer compartment, if you are handy this is a do it yourself job. The cover in the freezer section just pops out not tools needed. You will need a few small zip ties and some cutters to remove the old zip ties. Take a picture were the old sensor was before removing and reinstall in the same place. I used a meter to check continuity of the defrost element and found the element to be ok. I was quoted $85 to have someone come to the house just to check the unit and... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water tank assembly leaking   Mark Y. • Ballinger , TX • August 22, 2016

Replaced tank assembly. Actually I think the supply hose was originally not fully seated in the tank and I think I could have re-seated it deeper through the gray bushing. When I set the line into the new tank, still leaking. Pulled out supply line and reset using a little more force and line went into the tank. Took the bushing clip off the other tank and used it for the supply line bushing. So far, no leaks. The thing to remember is to push the edges of each hose bushing inward to pull... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water spraying from filter supply line in back of refrigerator   Marcus E. • Spanaway , WA • February 03, 2015

First, water and electricity don't mix, so make sure to unplug your refrigerator before beginning this repair - it shouldn't take more than an hour, so you shouldn't have to worry about spoilage. My water dispenser began making a hissing sound from the back of the fridge when you pressed the dispenser. Upon inspection, I discovered the 1/4" feed line into the filter housing assembly had cracked. I ordered the 1/4" feed and 5/16" return lines, figuring to replace the return line while I was back... I ordered a new motor. The new motor's electrical harness was not long enough, so I had to use some wire from the old motor, splicing it to make it reach. Problem solved. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken shelf glasd   Elizabeth E. • Laurel , MD • March 24, 2016

Appliance Parts was the only one of three companies that did it right. When the glass in our rather new LG fridge broke, I called the number listed in the manual for replacement parts and was put through to their "authorized distributor" for our area. The authorized distributor sent us the wrong part (entirely different dimensions) with a packing slip identifying the right part number. Because this is not a review of that company (which would be horrible, I won't share the gruesome details of... Read more
