Replacement drip pan installs below range surface burners to catch spills. Replace if rusted, discolored, scorched, or coated with buildup that won't clean.
Burner element was broken and partially melted. Didn't know if element or switch or kettle started it. Switch smelled burnt and bad; "burner on" light was on regardless of switch position.
