• No heat or not enough heat

Frigidaire Gallery gas dryer from maybe 15 years ago. Based on the fact the the smell was only in the dryer, I concluded it must be the gas valve failing to completely seal when closed. After looking at the insides again, I suppose it is possible that it was a connection near the burner, but that stuff had remained untouched for 10 years so I still think I made a good assumption. Our washing machine door boot seal was getting moldy and causing odor problems. Cleaning tablets and bleach weren't helping so it was time to be replaced. While I had the top and front off I changed all the hoses that could be collecting soap scum and mold, all other wetted parts were removed and washed. Had a friend who is an appliance repair tech. Replace the evaporator, the heater coil, and the filter/drier. Parts were soldered together and the compressor was put under vacuum. Then, charged with 5 oz. of refrigerant. The freezer works great now! Read more

Needed to replace burner box panel (pan under electric coil burners) and replace stove top (black panel that surrounds the burners). BB was corroded, had a couple big holes from liquid boil-overs (salted water) from the last 10 years. The stove top looked nasty. It was chipped & scratched badly. I replaced the door boot with a new one from AppliancePartsPros.com. The most difficult part was starting at the back end of the new boot onto the stationary rim, just in front of the tub. And then anchoring it in place with the existing spring from the previous boot. To start the boot I had to hook the top edge of the boot, where the arrow tab is, onto the rectangular projection on the tub rim and then roll the rubber boot edge down around the tub rim and hope the rim was going into the... It was easy to find the part on appliance parts pros. Once I found it I studied the diagram and determined that there were 3 screws in the drum that needed to be removed. I disconnected power and then removed 3 interior screws. Once I did that I removed the back cover and removed the single screw on the bottom side of the air duct that held it in place connected to the heat tube. I then reversed disassembly. Everything was straight forward and easy to repair, I had an appliance tech come out and troubleshoot the repair and watched what he did and asked questions. I then ordered the parts from here and did the repairs myself and saved on having the tech make another trip out. Read more

My teenaged son took the old washer door off and apart. He replaced our glass from our washer onto the new doors and attached it to the hinge. These doors are compatible with Kenmore washer even though it says Frigidaire. Read more

I have a Jenn-Air microwave that didn't turn on and had no lights. It just stopped working completely. The blower wheel center was worn down and spinning freely on shaft. Removing front covers, controls and brackets gave access to blower, which front half came off removing screws. (One screw underneath bracket) Pushed new blower on. (It's keyed and has small tabs that line up with groove on shaft). Installed clamp, reassembled and tested.
