Plastic water line that runs from the water valve to the icemaker fill tube. Replace if cracked, brittle, broken, or leaking at connection points.
Thanks to the AppliancePartsPro, I ordered it online and received it quickly. I even used the step by step directions on how to replace the tube from the AppliancePartsPro website. Just be very careful and review the instructions first. Couple of important things: 1. Take a picture of the existing wiring and tubes before you take them apart. 2. *if* you remove the wires ( red and white plugs) from the valve, make sure you plug them back in correctly. 3. Do not pull or push the tubes hard. Use... Read more
Fix a light that won't turn on or flickers in your refrigerator. This E12 socket replacement is straightforward with our step-by-step video guide.
When diagnosing the problem, I discovered that the ice door was not properly sealing and that the solenoid had appeared to rust/corrode forcing the door open. I replaced most of the ice dispenser internals (solenoid, crank, door, and spring) following the video. The door will now open when dispensing ice (which it does!), and will oddly stay open for a few seconds once I am finished, but does seal properly and the chute/container no longer frosts over. This is a grommet and it is intended for use on refrigerators and freezers. This is a genuine replacement part made by General Electric. A new grommet might be needed if the current one is visibly worn out or damaged in any way. If there are noises from vibration coming from the lower back area of the fridge there might be need for a new grommet. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer, and it is sold individually. It is compatible with refrigerators and freezers, or units with a compressor and is made by General Electric.

The problem was most likely the evaporator fan motor but it could have been a bad blade, loose parts or bad motor mounts. Hard to tell without taking everything apart and inspecting. Since fridge was 17 years old I decided to order the entire evaporator fan assembly as shown in the parts diagram including fan blade, motor brackets, motor, motor mounts, screws, etc. Getting to the assembly involved removing the ice maker unit plus the entire rear inside of the freezer section. Parts cost around... Read more

I ordered a replacement auger from AppliancePartsPros.com. Upon receipt of the new auger, I watched the repair video and took the ice crusher apart. I found several other parts that needed to be replaced as well. Once All the parts were received, I again watched the video. The video was not specific enough to show how to reassemble the ice crusher blades and the two types of washers. I found another video on YouTube that walked me through specific details of assembly and everything went... Read more

Evaporator fan motor in our freezer was bad. Ordered new one with 2 day delivery and had it in 2 days. Thankfully it was very easy to get to from the front of the freezer. There are 3 different options for same motor with different wire harnesses. I bought the cheapest option and then snipped and reconnected the wires to the existing harness. That saved us $50. Still well under an hour from the time I opened the tool box to putting the last tool away. Fridge is now plenty cold even set on 5. . Read more
