Replaced 4 of the suspension springs with new brackets. I looked up my washer, looked at the diagrams, watched your video which made things a lot easier! Liquid-filled balance ring mounts on top of the spin basket. Replace if cracked, leaking, or detached to restore smooth spinning and reduce vibration.
I found that the balance ring had popped loose from the top of the inner metal tub and had been scored so that the fluid was leaking out. So, I removed the metal shell of the washer, then the top plastic cover over the outer tub. I pulled out the old part and put on the new one. I had to give it a pretty good push downward to engage the clips and get it fully seated. I ran my hand along the inside of the metal tub to feel that the new balance ring was fully seated. This tub support assembly holds the washing machine drum in place and includes the spin tube for water drainage. It replaces worn supports that cause excessive vibration, loud noises, or drum movement during operation. Install when your washer shakes violently, makes grinding sounds, or the drum feels loose.
I installed all the necessary parts that I received from you and it works great, now. I received the parts in good time without overnighting them. I had the whole washing machine apart and went through it all before ordering parts. Tear down and assembly was easy. I just took my time. The washer is 17 years old and was well built.
