The O Ring is an OEM part for GE dryers, creating a tight seal in different components for efficient operation. This small part prevents air leaks that can impact drying performance, made from quality materials to withstand high temperatures and frequent use
Causes of a faulty O Ring in a dryer may stem from heat exposure, regular wear and tear, or chemical damage. This can result in reduced elasticity, cracks, or breaks, impacting the seal.
Symptoms of a bad O Ring in your dryer include:
This genuine GE OEM replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
Went ahead and replaced the pulley as well the drum bearing sleeve and O ring, drum belt and the front drum bearing slides. Put the unit back together and she ran like a top! Read more
The Door Latch is an OEM part for GE dryers. This part ensures the dryer door stays securely closed during operation, activating the safety switch to allow the dryer to operate. The latch mechanism engages with the door strike to lock the door, preventing it from opening while the dryer is running, which is essential for both safety and proper functioning of the appliance.
Causes for replacement can include normal wear and tear, accidental damage, or a misalignment that prevents the door from securely latching.
Symptoms of a bad Door Latch include:
This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
My GE dryer from the late 80's/early 90's was squealing when it would start up, belt or bearing I was thinking. I found a manual online that covered my model and I watched a video on this site that showed me how to take it all apart, mine was a bit different but the principles were the same. I took it apart and added some quick-disconnects to 2 wires so next time I can take the front panel off easily. When I got to the bearing it looked worn but not bad so I cleaned it and put it back. ... Read more
The bearing retainer secures the drum bearing assembly in your dryer. Replace if cracked, broken, or worn to restore proper structural support.
A few months back I changed out the "Bearing Slides" on the front side of the drum thinking that would stop the annoying squeaking every time we use the dryer. They were very worn and one was missing. But to my dismay it only lessened it by about 10%. After doing a bit more research I discovered the "Rear Shaft Bracket Assembly" also needed replacement. The tip was worn way down and clearly the source of the noise. It was actually a very simple repair except for the fact that the key to the... Read more
These GE screws are a 12-pack of OEM replacement parts responsible for securing and fastening various components and panels in a GE range or oven. These screws are designed with a hexagonal head, which allows for the use of a compatible wrench or socket for tightening. They are commonly used to attach sheet metal panels, brackets, and other parts within the appliance, ensuring that these components remain securely in place during operation.
This part fixes the following symptoms:
The GE screws can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.
I pulled off the retaining clip with pliers then removed the old knob and timer dial. I replaced all the parts with the new ones and used pliers to reinstall the clip. The teeth on the new knob engage to select the cycle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQwLtRcHx9k Read more
This dryer motor kit powers the drum and blower. Replacing a weak or failed motor restores proper tumbling and airflow so the dryer starts reliably and dries loads more evenly.
Replaced the motor with a new one, if I can offer any advice about doing this job, make sure to keep track of where each wire goes on the motor and whatever wires need to be disconnected. There are a few good video's online showing how to do this job and can save you a lot of time and frustration. Read more

Dryer door won't stay closed or pops open during cycle? This mounting plate anchors the door strike for secure latching. Quick DIY fix with video guide.
We ordered a door switch, dryer latch and strike plate. We realized that we only needed to replace the door switch. We watched a few videos and then replaced the switch. We couldn’t find a video for our model but they did give us a pretty good idea about what we needed to do. The hardest part was getting the original door switch out, all of the videos we watched showed us that it would pop out with a little pressure from a flat head screw driver, from the front of the switch. We could not get... Read more
Dryer won't start, stops mid-cycle, or runs backward? The drive motor powers drum rotation. Moderate difficulty repair requires disassembly. Video guide.
I could hear the dryer motor hum, but it would not run. There was nothing obstructing the motor from turning freely so I assumed I needed a new motor. I went ahead and ordered a new pulley switch to change out while I was in there just in case. The parts arrived faster than expected. I changed the switch first and then checked the old motor which surprisingly fired right up. Now I have to decide whether to return the new motor or keep it as a spare. Read more
Hi-limit thermostat. L210.
Replaced the high limit safety thermostat. Ordering was easy, and the part came quickly. The video on the web site was helpful, although I was not able to follow the instructions fully. Unless you have super skinny, long arms, you cannot reach under and around the dryer tub to reach the belt tension arm. I ended up having to remove the side panel of the dryer to remove the belt from the motor. Replacing the thermostat was simple enough. At this point, it seems to have corrected the... Read more
Dryer barely blowing air or taking forever to dry? A worn blower wheel fails to pull air through the drum. This wheel restores airflow for efficient drying.
Replacement drum baffle installs inside your dryer to lift and tumble clothes during drying. Replace if cracked, broken, or mounting holes are stripped out.
I ordered two new baffles and 7 screws. I also ordered 6 large washers. We were running with one baffle held by only 2 of 3 screws. It appears that a repairman in the past had removed the large washers and over time, the screw heads reamed out the hole, causing the baffles to detach and break. In about 15 minutes, I was able to tighten up the existing baffle and add the two new ones. I also added the 6 big washers to help strengthen this to prevent future issues. I no longer have to listen to... Read more
This CCMR 30-amp, 120-volt fuse protects the appliance's electrical circuit by opening when current exceeds safe limits. Replace a blown fuse to restore power to the affected circuit and help prevent damage to internal components.
