Blower Wheel
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WE16M15

The Blower Wheel is an OEM replacement part for GE dryers. It has a role in the air circulation within the dryer, aiding in the even and efficient drying of clothes. The blower wheel, connected to the motor, helps in expelling the moist air out of the dryer through the exhaust vent during the drying cycle.

Causes of a malfunctioning blower wheel are typically wear and tear from regular use, the accumulation of lint or debris, or damage to the wheel’s fins or central hub, which can impact its rotation and air circulation capability.

Symptoms of a bad Blower Wheel include:

  • Unusual noises during operation
  • Extended drying times
  • The dryer overheating
  • Reduced air circulation

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer motor hums but won't turn over   Joel B. • Baytown , TX • December 17, 2016

I could hear the dryer motor hum, but it would not run. There was nothing obstructing the motor from turning freely so I assumed I needed a new motor. I went ahead and ordered a new pulley switch to change out while I was in there just in case. The parts arrived faster than expected. I changed the switch first and then checked the old motor which surprisingly fired right up. Now I have to decide whether to return the new motor or keep it as a spare. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Two baffles had torn out as the screw heads came through the holes   Scott B. • Katy , TX • December 21, 2015

I ordered two new baffles and 7 screws. I also ordered 6 large washers. We were running with one baffle held by only 2 of 3 screws. It appears that a repairman in the past had removed the large washers and over time, the screw heads reamed out the hole, causing the baffles to detach and break. In about 15 minutes, I was able to tighten up the existing baffle and add the two new ones. I also added the 6 big washers to help strengthen this to prevent future issues. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Timer would not advance the time so dryer stayed on until manually shut off   Mg C. • Simi Valley , CA • April 14, 2015

Just as the folks in the comments section said, I tested everything to make sure the timer had power which it did. I then tested with the OHM tester and saw that the switch was open when the timer was set to any drying cycle. So i changed the timer and voila! timer is functioning again. It was a very easy fix. Just pop the four screws out of the back of my timer panel on the dryer, detach all the wires, lift up on the little bracket that is holding the timer in place and twist it, and it... Read more

Screw
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WE2M163

This is a small screw, and it is made for dryers, washers, and washer dryer combos. This is a genuine replacement part made by General Electric. Screws are common in these appliances and can cause many difficulties if they become loose, damaged, or missing.A new screw might be needed if there are areas in the appliance that seem off balance or not level. Another way to tell if a new screw is needed is if there are parts in the appliance that are loose or falling off. This is common over many years of normal use as the shaking of washers and dryers can eventually lead to loose screws. Be sure the washer or dryer is completely off before attempting to replace any screws. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is sold individually and is compatible with washers, dryers, and washer dryer combos made by General Electric.
