This helix is the plastic spiral inside the refrigerator's ice bucket that works with the auger to move ice toward the crusher and dispenser. Replacing a worn or broken helix restores smooth ice dispensing and reduces jams.
Ice was not being dispensed when lever was pushed in either crushed or cubed mode I removed the ice bin. After searching the web for reasons for this I pulled the bin out and started looking at auger assembly. I noticed that the sections of the Helix blades were missing. I found several other parts that needed to be replaced as well. Once All the parts were received, I again watched the video.
