Upon examination of the dryer, I noticed that the belt was intact, though a little worn and hard. However, I noticed that the belt had came of the idler pulley. Opened up the washer to see where the smoke was coming from. The culprit was a black cylinder with 2 wires running to it. After enough googling I figured out it was a capacitor for the motor.
