This is a plastic vent grille that covers the air intake or exhaust area on the refrigerator, typically located at the bottom front or top of the unit. This defrost heater is mounted near the evaporator coils and generates heat to melt frost buildup during the automatic defrost cycle. It helps maintain proper airflow and cooling efficiency inside the refrigerator. Total repair took slightly over 1 hour. Would have taken longer had I not already have taken the freezer apart on a previous occasion.
