Locking Nut
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP3359452

This locking nut is used for many purposes on a range of machines including household appliances. This nut is often used for leg leveling for machines. It will help with vibrations from washers and dryers. If the nut is used for this purpose and goes missing or becomes damaged, it could cause the machine to vibrate more and seem louder.Nuts are made from metal and are built to last a long time. However, there can still be issues that arise. In some cases, the nuts might go missing if they become loose and the machine is moved. They could also corrode over time and need to be replaced. The replacement of the nut is typically a fast and simple repair. The nut is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced from the manufacturer. It can work with washers, dryers, and combo machines, and is compatible with models from Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, and Roper. The part is sold individually. Owners may want to have several on hand.

I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Clothes not sinning dry enough   Edward B. • Ellisville , MO • March 07, 2016

Based on recommendation to replace the clutch if clothes aren't spinning dry enough, I ordered a new clutch. Upon disassembly, I observed no Ring Wire/C-Clip and that the bearing appeared worn. Where did the clip go? Well, the bearing wore down such that it wore out the clip and bearing up to the sleeve of the shaft. Knocked out the old bearing, tapped in the new and was done. I disassembled the brake shoes but believe you can get the bearing in and out without doing so. Not a bad job, just... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Wife noticed water on the laundry room floor!   Richard L. • Phelps , NY • April 06, 2015

Removed cover from Whirlpool washer (~20 years old) and found water to be leaking from hose connection at Break Vac. Obviously the hose had to be replaced but the Break Vac looked corroded and partially plugged, too, possibly inhibiting water flow. While the cabinet was off I noticed the Suspension Spring was rusted off so I ordered 1 of those, too. Retainer Ring
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: 285353

This retainer ring is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on front load washing machines to hold the boot seal in place. The boot seal is the gasket that seals the washing machine when the door is closed to prevent water from leaking. The retainer ring is located flush against the boot seal and has either a spring clamp or screw clamp that secures it. Over time, this ring may become damaged due to the washing machine's normal use and age. If the ring is not tight, the washing machine could leak when in use. If water is coming from the door, it is a good idea to inspect and replace the retainer ring and possibly the boot as well.Unplug the washing machine to prevent electrocution. Remove the front panel, the detergent dispenser, and the kickplate to access the retainer ring. Locate the clamp on the ring and loosen it. Remove the retainer ring and set it to the side. Inspect the boot and then install the new retainer ring. Tighten the clamp and reassemble the washing machine. This retainer ring is sold as an individual unit. It is designed specifically for washing machines manufactured by Whirlpool.
