It took a long time to determine the problem but eventually I discovered that the plastic bracket (latch hook) that held the three door-switches showed appreciable wear from repeated door openings and closings. Online instructions say to carefully remove the door inner facing in order to acces the handle screws. Easily done with a couple butter knives and some patience. Popped right off. But then there was a 2 piece inner "door" still in the way. Removed two more screws then carefully pried it off the plastic clips and swung out of way. Removed handle screws and old handle. I removed the 7 screws on the bottom of the microwave that held the bottom sheet metal piece. The piece dropped down , exposing the turntable motor. I ordered the parts I needed, the motor and the coupler (which had broken), and when they arrived the next day, I removed the 2 screws which held the motor in place and installed the new motor. Replaced both the round stirring cover at inside top of microwave, as well as the rectangular waveguide cover on inside right of microwave. Both were showing signs of grease which was not easily removed by soap and water, however it was the stirring cover on the top which I noticed which had a black bb sized spot where it was most likely arching to.
