Over time, the heat diffuser can become worn out or damaged due to high heat exposure, lint buildup, or mechanical issues. Regular use and lack of maintenance can also contribute to its deterioration.
Symptoms of a bad Heat Diffuser include:
Removed 3 screws which required a torx bit. Used small headless nails to line up the holes and use as a guide for sliding on new diffuser. Put screws in one at a time and tightened down. rotating the drum helped with slight mis-alignement with the screw holes. Read more
The Power Terminal Block is an OEM part for GE dryers. This component serves as the connection point for the dryer's power cord, distributing electrical power to the various internal components of the dryer. It ensures that the dryer receives the proper electrical supply needed for its operation.
Causes of a bad power terminal block can include electrical overloads, corrosion from moisture exposure, and loose or frayed wiring connections. These issues can lead to improper power distribution or complete loss of power to the dryer.
Symptoms of a bad power terminal block include:
Had to replace power cord and entire terminal assy. Read more
The Door Strike is an OEM part for GE dryers. It ensures the dryer door securely latches when closed, allowing the dryer to operate properly. The door strike works with the door catch or latch mechanism, creating a tight seal to prevent heat and noise from escaping during the drying cycle.
A bad door strike can lead to issues with the door not closing or staying closed, resulting in poor drying performance and potential safety hazards. Causes of a bad door strike can include wear and tear over time, damage due to accidental impact or mishandling, or a faulty latch assembly.
Symptoms of a bad door strike include:
Replace your worn-out or damaged door strike with this genuine OEM GE part to ensure a secure and reliable closure of your dryer door.
This GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.
Replaced lint filter and door latch, but door switch was the answer. Works great! No video for this model but was able to view a similar one to follow. Read more
This metal mounting plate supports the dryer door strike/catch interface. It provides a solid anchor point so the door latches securely, helping the dryer start and run only when the door is properly closed.
We ordered a door switch, dryer latch and strike plate. We realized that we only needed to replace the door switch. We watched a few videos and then replaced the switch. We couldn’t find a video for our model but they did give us a pretty good idea about what we needed to do. The hardest part was getting the original door switch out, all of the videos we watched showed us that it would pop out with a little pressure from a flat head screw driver, from the front of the switch. We could not get... Read more
The Trap Duct Assembly is an OEM part for GE dryers. This part directs the airflow from the dryer drum to the exhaust vent. This assembly ensures efficient drying by guiding hot air out of the dryer while collecting lint and debris in the trap, preventing it from clogging the venting system.
Causes of a bad trap duct assembly can include lint buildup over time, physical damage due to heavy usage, or obstruction from foreign objects.
Symptoms of a bad Trap Duct Assembly include:
Our GE front loader dryer is approximately 10 years old. It started making a loud noise. Before we sank another $600 for a new dryer, I decided to go online to search Youtube videos to try to find out if anyone else had the same problem. I found that a lot of dryers had drum support bearings that wore out and needed to be replaced and a lot of dryers were also having clothes caught up in them. I then found an Appliance Parts Pro video on how to fix this problem and found out what parts... Read more
The Filter and Mesh Assembly is an OEM part for dryers. This part captures lint and other debris from the air stream during the drying cycle, preventing it from clogging the dryer's internal components or being expelled into the surrounding area.
Causes of a bad filter include excessive lint buildup, damage from mishandling, or general wear and tear over time.
Symptoms of a bad filter and mesh assembly include:
This outlet backup thermostat for dryers mounts on the exhaust duct and provides secondary over-temperature protection. It shuts the heater off if exhaust air gets too hot, helping maintain safe, consistent drying.
Checked vent first to see if there was a blockage. Removed top, front and drum of dryer. Replaced all sensors including flame detection and gas valve coils. Re-assembled and tested. Dryer was now heating Read more
This replacement blower wheel for a dryer mounts to the drive motor and pulls air through the drum, lint filter, and exhaust, restoring proper airflow so loads dry efficiently and the appliance runs as intended. What it does:

About 45 minutes only because the actual line in the circuit breaker box was loose. It was nice because all the parts needed were suggested. The video was a great help. Thanks. Read more
This replacement screw secures appliance panels and internal components per your model's hardware list. Replace lost or stripped screws to keep assemblies tight, reduce vibration and rattles, and maintain proper alignment.
I ordered two new baffles and 7 screws. I also ordered 6 large washers. We were running with one baffle held by only 2 of 3 screws. It appears that a repairman in the past had removed the large washers and over time, the screw heads reamed out the hole, causing the baffles to detach and break. In about 15 minutes, I was able to tighten up the existing baffle and add the two new ones. I also added the 6 big washers to help strengthen this to prevent future issues. I no longer have to listen to... Read more
The Duct Trap Housing is an OEM component specifically designed for GE laundry machines. Causes of a bad duct trap housing include cracks or warping from heat exposure over time, damage due to impact or mishandling, or worn-out mounting components that secure it in place.
Symptoms of a bad duct trap housing include:
This idler arm, also called a belt tensioner arm, supports the idler pulley that keeps the dryer's drive belt tight so the drum rotates smoothly. Replacing a worn arm helps eliminate noise and belt tracking issues.
After replacing the belt less than a year ago, when it broke again we started to think something may be going on with the idler pulley. Ordered a new belt and pulley wheel, only to have the belt break again the very next day. After a call to customer service explaining the situation, they replaced the belt and pulley wheel which were both under warranty, and suggested replacing the arm itself. We also had to replace the interlock switch. Parts arrived quickly. The repair itself took about an... Read more
