Every now & then my old GE Triton dishwasher wouldn't completely drain.I had previously replaced the spring-loaded cone shaped drain valve in the back of the tub plus the check valve in the discharge hose.If your dishwasher is old like mine replace these as mine were shot. I got online to see what might be wrong with my unit and then see what parts were recommended to repair the problem. I found this site and ordered two parts a piston and nut assembly and a check valve if the piston and nut did not fix my problem. Once I received my parts I installed the piston and nut assembly first and that was all I needed to make it drain prperly. Review of problem on your web site led to the check valves being the likely culprit! Followed the repair videos and removed the check vave - it was totally deteriorated! Ordered new parts Sunday afternoon -they arrived via FedEx on Tuesday afternoon. About an hour later repair was made, unit reinstalled in cabinet and dishes being washer - All Repaired! The repair is fairly straightforward. Remove the Phillips head screws on the interior of the door to access the back of the Escutcheon. Note that the bottom 2 screws on the door are machine screws with a tighter thread. The primary leak was the shaft seal around the main water valve shaft. After 15 years, it had failed. The repair was not difficult, but time consuming, since you should remove the dishwasher and lay it on its back.
