Ordered a new flood switch and activation stem from Aplliance Parts Pros.com. Order was delivered in about 3 days. Installed new switch and stem in about 15 min. Removed front kicker panel with two screws, the switch was just inside the panel secured with two screws. remove the electrical connector, removed screws, replace the two new parts..put the screws back in place and ran the washer...no overflows. This kit is used to repair a leaking pump on GE made dishwashers. For a complete pump/motor assembly get WD26X10013.
The main conduit was broken and the pump connector had a hole in it. The pump also was showing signs of leaking. I completely disassembled the dishwasher cleaned everything and reassembled. The repair videos are a big help. Thank you. Read more
Found a service manual that is close enough to my GE dishwasher. Service Manual for GE Dishwasher-EDW4000 was found on the following webpage. http://www.applianceaid.com/pdf/serv-man-EDW4000.pdf Gives enough information to test out the dishwasher. Rinse aid was not dispensing properly. so replacing the dispenser fixed the problem. Very easy to do with the replacement part, although the repair video was not exactly accurate; it was actually easier. Remove the screws holding the door liner and lift it off, and the part is right in front of you. 6 screws off, remember what color wire goes where, reassemble, and you're done. Problem gone.
