This cam mechanism helps the refrigerator door close properly by providing the correct closing force and alignment for the lower hinge. It ensures the door seals tightly and maintains proper spacing from the cabinet. Replace this part if your refrigerator door doesn't close completely, hangs crooked, or requires excessive force to shut.
We bought a used fridge and forgot to get the hardware to mount the doors. Looked up the model on your website. Using the pictures I was able to order just the parts I needed and not to duplicate anything (or leave anything out!). The parts arrived and because I watched the "how to" video I knew to use the "trick" to hold the doors up while attaching the hardware. Had the doors mounted in less than 15 minutes!.. Seals your refrigerator's fresh food door to prevent air leaks and maintain proper temperature. Replace if torn, cracked, or door won't stay closed. Verify fit.
Ordered replacement seals for both freezer and refrigerator sides. Followed directions that I had found on YouTube. The installation in a nut shell is warm the seals in a bathtub with very hot water for at least 2-3hrs then place the seals. Then warm the seals with a hair dryer as needed. After getting the seals out of the hot bath the installation took all of 20-25 minutes for both seals. Read more

Used the schematic provided to select the parts needing replacement and placed the order. Parts arrived and swapping new for old was simple. For the most part it was a matter of taking out the old and putting in the new. There were a few screws with wheels to replace but that was easy as well. Before purchase I searched several different sites and found all the parts needed. I compared prices of each item as well as shipping cost. Prices for each item were nearly identical between sites... My refrigerator is 13 years old and has always been a pain. The shelf above the ice maker broke last year which caused the ice maker to keep making ice even when the bin was full (the shelf keeps the ice contained which causes the ice buildup to shut off the ice maker). My water dispenser would occasionally refuse to dispense water. It appeared to me that the issue was caused by the nozzle freezing. The trap door for the ice was not closing properly so freezing air was always blowing out. ... Read more
Fix food freezing or warm spots in your fridge with a new air damper assembly. Controls airflow between compartments. Moderate DIY repair, 1-2 hours.
It started with clicking sounds for about 10 seconds at random times throughout the day. eventually the clicking sounds were gone and the temperature in the fresh food section was dropping below freezing. Turns out that one of the 3 damper doors was stuck open. My fridge has a damper door in the top left and 2 doors in the bottom left. One of the bottom doors was dedicated to the quick chill drawer which hadn't worked in some time. but since the quick chill door was stuck closed it did not... Read more

Refrigerator light not working? This light bulb socket holds the bulb securely and provides electrical connection. Easy DIY repair with video guide.
Had some confusion of what part I needed, needed the one with the motor and thermostat. Fortunately, I've been fixing wiring for many years, I simply cut the new motor out of the harness, and used that nice glue-inside-heat-shrink tubing to seal the soldered 'Western Union' style splices. New light socket and lamps fit fine, worked fine, new motor is fine, problem resolved. FYI: Look closely at the wiring in you unit, there are two wire harnesses, one feeds the light, the other feeds the motor... Read more

The hinge broke on the ice dispenser funnel and housing. I took them off and replace them, putting the old switches and bulb in the new housing. It took some time to put the return spring back because it does not appear in the assembly diagram. Once working, it secures to the door with 4 screws, and worked as it should. The support slide inside the freezer is held with two 1/4 in screws that were taken off with a nut driver. the rear screw is hard to get at. The new bracket just screws on, and... Read more
This helix is the plastic spiral inside the refrigerator's ice bucket that works with the auger to move ice toward the crusher and dispenser. Replacing a worn or broken helix restores smooth ice dispensing and reduces jams.
Ice was not being dispensed when lever was pushed in either crushed or cubed mode I removed the ice bin. After searching the web for reasons for this I pulled the bin out and started looking at auger assembly. I noticed that the sections of the Helix blades were missing. Ordered the Helix here at AAP and received the part the next day. The whole process took about an hour and as others have noted, you have to disassemble the bin assembly to get the auger assembly out. I watched the video... Read more
This evaporator fan motor dust cap is an authentic OEM replacement part found on refrigerator and freezer fan motors. This dust cap prevents the fan motor bearing and housing from being damaged by dirt and debris. If the dust cap is cracked or broken, the fan may make loud squealing noises. If the dust cap is not removed and replaced, the fan could stop working and ultimately cause the refrigerator's temperature to be affected. To start, disconnect the power and water to the refrigerator. Remove food from the freezer so that the back panel of the freezer can be accessed to reach the fan. Remove the ice maker and set it outside the freezer. Disconnect the fan and take it out of the freezer to expose the fan's shaft and the dust cover. Pry the dust cover off and install the new one. Replace the fan and cover. Reconnect the wires and reinstall the icemaker. Put the food back in the freezer. Reconnect the power and water. The evaporator fan motor dust cap is a white plastic part that is sold individually. This dust cover is made for use in refrigerators manufactured by General Electric, Hotpoint, and Kenmore.
