Idler pulley for dryer drum assembly. Maintains belt tension to enable smooth drum rotation. Replace if worn, cracked, or causing noise during operation.
The Dryer is 10 years old GE Front Load DPVH890JEMG. The drum would intermittently not rotate at the beginning of a cycle and occasionally would rotate but then start and stop throughout the cycle. I did not check error codes, but the windings on the motor were black. So it seemed reasonable that the motor was overheating and sending a signal to the control board to stop. There is one screw under the knob and 9 screws on the front to get inside. I decided to replace the bearings, capacitor,... Read more

Replacement start button for dryer control panel. Installs on front console. Needed when original button is cracked, broken, or won't depress properly.
The start button broke?!? I ordered another start button and it looked exactly like the one I had. I figured it would break as well, so I might as well try to fix the broken one. I unplugged the power, removed the back of the dryer console, disconnected the start switch from the button and the dryer, depressed the 3 pop out tabs to remove the button from the dryer. I put the switch back in place and reinstalled the back. I clipped off the 3 projections that kept the button from being... Read more
The bearing retainer secures the drum bearing assembly in your dryer. Replace if cracked, broken, or worn to restore proper structural support.
A few months back I changed out the "Bearing Slides" on the front side of the drum thinking that would stop the annoying squeaking every time we use the dryer. They were very worn and one was missing. But to my dismay it only lessened it by about 10%. After doing a bit more research I discovered the "Rear Shaft Bracket Assembly" also needed replacement. The tip was worn way down and clearly the source of the noise. It was actually a very simple repair except for the fact that the key to the... Read more

Plastic baffle that installs inside the dryer drum to lift and tumble clothes. Replace if cracked, broken, thinning, or missing vanes that may mark fabrics.
Dryer was leaving marks on clothes. Watched a video on youtube about 5 reasons why that might be happening. I did have a broken baffle on the inside of the drum that maybe was pinching the clothes as it turned. When I took the dryer a top and front off to inspect the other issues and take of the broken baffle I noticed the drum slides seemed worn as the youtube video also mentioned could be a reason.
