Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The seal on the door of the refigerator was damaged also the hinge cap needed replacing as it was cracked   Michael S. • Fredericksburg , VA • January 20, 2016

I took the new seal out of it's packaging and used a blowdryer on low heat to soften up the seal so that the crease from shipping (it was folded to ship) disappeared. Next I took the refrigerator door off, removed the old seal, & cleaned the area where the new seal would be applied. Following the video on the Appliance Pro Parts website, I re-installed the new seal and put the door back on. Last step was to snap on the new hinge cap I ordered. The video online was easy to follow and this... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You It was piddling on the floor every time it defrosted   Darlene S. • Stanley , WI • January 12, 2015

The drain pan (Tray-Evaporator Pan) was cracked in 2 places. We had to remove the front panel. Loosen the bracket that holds the water filter. Take off the back panel and disconnect the bracket that holds the selenoid. It was not necessary to unhook the water lines, just the bracket. It was not easy to remove the old pan and get the new one in, but holding the water filter, with the bracket intact, as far to the left side of the refrigerator as possible gave us the room to get the pan in. ... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice forming in the ice cube bin   Bill J. • Scottsdale , AZ • December 13, 2014

I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model ED22PWXBW01. A year ago, the ice cubes started freezing together in the rear of the ice bin for no apparent reason. Although the problem started off small, it gradually grew much worse, and finally I could see water dripping out of the ice mold and into the bin during the fill cycle. Re-levelling the refrig didn’t help, nor did adjusting the cube size / fill level. With guidance from the video, I removed the icemaker from the wall of the freezer. The... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice dispenser did not work   Magic P. • Riverdale , GA • January 22, 2015

I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. So I advise... Read more
