Unplug range. Open oven door to gain access to the cook top lock-down screws, located under the front edge of the cook top. Tip the cook top up and carefully remove it by pulling forward. Took top apart to find out that the problem was just the lens for the light was broken. Come to find out that the lens is what holds the light in place. Easy fix. Pulled out the range and disconnected power cord. Unscrewed two screws in front of unit. Tilted smoothtop open toward rear of stove. Propped a piece of wood to keep it open. Removed burned out Indicator bulb and its plastic housing. Disconnected two wires attached. Installed new bulb and its housing attaching the two wires...housing clicked into hole where old one was removed. Closed top and re-attached two screws... Now works fine. Read more
