Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven would not come to full temperature; unreliable heating; heating elements apparently ok.   Stewart W. • Silver Spring , MD • May 07, 2022

My mother's GE range was not coming up to full heat (very far from it), and I was hearing a lot of relay-clicking coming from the control board. The heating elements seemed good. I suspected the control board was faulty, but there was a chance that it might be the (*much* less expensive) temperature sensor, so I ordered both from AppliancePartsPros.com (which got the parts to me very fast) so I could try the T-sensor first. After removing the doors and the back panel of the oven, and taking out... Read more

Fuse
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB27X10928

The Fuse is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It serves as a safety device designed to protect the microwave from excessive current that can cause overheating and potential fire hazards. When the current flowing through the microwave circuit exceeds a certain level, the fuse blows or breaks, cutting off the power to prevent damage or fire.

Common causes for a fuse to blow include power surges, faulty wiring within the appliance, or the use of microwave inappropriate containers that cause sparks. It is essential to address these issues not only to replace the fuse but also to correct the underlying problems to prevent future failures.

Symptoms of a bad fuse include:

  • The microwave suddenly stops working.
  • No signs of power or response even when the microwave door is closed and the start button is pressed.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The GE Advantium Oven completely shut down. No lights, no sign of life at all.   Denny E. • Waynesboro , VA • March 14, 2014

I read on line about other such ovens doing the same thing mine was doing, absolutely nothing! I even read stories of a major retailer telling customers to throw the microwave away. There's nothing you can do to fix it. After replacing a simple fuse that I ordered from you, the Advantium is as good as new. It took a grand total of 5 minutes to make the repair. The shipping cost more than the part, but it was all very worthwhile. Read more

  • A burnt or smoky flavor transferring to foods
  • Difficulty removing baked-on grease and food deposits

High Voltage Diode
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB27X10597

The High Voltage Diode is an OEM part for GE microwaves. This high-voltage diode is crucial for converting alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC), enabling the magnetron to generate the microwave energy needed for cooking. Measuring approximately 3-1/2" in length, this diode features a banded side with a #8 ring terminal and a non-banded side with a 1/4" female quick connect.

You should replace the diode-H.V assembly if it becomes faulty due to electrical issues, wear and tear, or physical damage. Continuous exposure to high voltage can cause the diode to deteriorate over time, leading to malfunction.

Symptoms of a bad diode-H.V assembly include:

  • The microwave not heating food
  • A burning smell or unusual noises during operation
  • The microwave shutting off unexpectedly
  • Visible damage or burn marks on the diode

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Burned out broiler element   Robert H. • Downers Grove , IL • June 18, 2016

Would advise before doing this repair to watch the video for it. It is not a plug in connection anymore like older ovens. The key is to keep the connecting wires from the oven from falling or pulling into the inner wall of the oven. The wires may not come very far out away from the wall of the oven so make sure to secure them. The video shows a good way to do that. If you have an in wall oven this is very important because it would hard and time consuming to pull the oven out of the wall to... Read more
