I checked continuity on the thermostat and it was closed at room temperature when it should be open. I ordered a new one from AppliancePartsPros and I hope it solves the problem. Since the icing sometimes doesn't start for weeks after thawing and deicing the freezer, it's too early to tell if the problem is fixed. We were ecstatic that we were able to fix the unit ourselves. We had a Jenn Air suggested appliance repair company come out and tell us that the unit (built in) would not work unless we ordered the crispers ($600 each) and that they were actually discontinued.
