I goggled why my microwave would not heat and found an article on Appliance pros of 3 possibilities. 2 easy to fix..so I started with the first one which was the door switches. Followed the instructions and found the switches,removed them, brought them to my local Ace hardware to check connectivity. 2 of the 3 switches where bad. I purchased two lamp sockets and two lamp bulbs and fixed the microwave myself. It took approximately 25 minutes to change out the sockets and put the new bulbs in. My lights on my microwave are working perfectly and I couldn't be happier. Read more
Replace your microwave grease filter to maintain proper ventilation and reduce odors. Filters grease and smoke from cooking. Verify fit with your model number.
Follow the trio ubshooting flow chart inside of the microwave panel - and read articles on this website. Turned out to be a thermostat that had popped and gone bad. Replace the thermostat and it is good to go. Read more

I had to remove the microwave from the range and then remove the cover from the microwave to determine the exact problem. After a visual inspection then discharging the high voltage capacitor, I used a meter to test the high voltage diode and fuses. After using the meter to ohm out the magnetron, I removed it from the unit, and seeing that the hole in the end of the magnetron's tube was enlarged and burnt, as if it was arcing, I assumed it was the bad part. The door latch is the mechanical catch on your appliance door that hooks into the strike plate to keep the door firmly closed during operation. It works together with the door lock or switch to confirm a secure seal before the appliance runs. Replace this part if the door won't stay closed, pops open during a cycle, or the appliance won't start because it can't detect that the door is properly shut.

Take the top vent off by two screws & then one screw on the side & lifted her up and I could see the 3 switches I need to repair. Then unscrewed the housin to the 3 switches. Took the housin out , put the 3 switches in the new housing & put her in & plug them in . And plug the Nucor and she works like new. Highly recommended to deal with these people good people for the do-it-yourselfer. Read more
Replaced thermostat. Voltmeter showed no continuity so I knew it was dead. Microwave still stinks like burnt biscuit but it works! Took about a half hour to dismount the microwave and pull the casing off to expose the thermostat. It was extremely easy to do. I had to change the connectors as they were too small for the new part but that added all of 2 minutes to the project. In my case the fire didn't damage any other components.
