I called an appliance repair man to see if he would come and install the new handle but he said I would have to bring either the microwave or the door to him. With the microwave above the stove that wasn't going to happen so I fixed it myself and I am 75. The handle was a lot cheaper than buying a new microwave and getting someone to install it. I did have to use the old screws and new screws would have helped since I dropped one and it went under the stove. Read more

Above the stove microwave took cover off microwave and checked all 4 thermals for continuity and they all passed put in new circuit board and the microwave was still dead went back to the thermals again and found cavity thermal had a blackened connector cut ends off wires and put together with wire nut and microwave worked put new connectors on wires and hooked up thermal tried microwave and it was dead thermal read continuity was good but thermal was bad replace with new thermal and wire... There are four screws that hold the handle in place, my handle was down to one. I had to pry off the inner door cover. I used butter knives, but a thin screwdriver should work as well. Start on the outside edge (away from the hinge) near, but not in, the upper or lower corner. Slip the knife in between the inner door cover and the outer door shell, gently pry loose, working around the cover. It isn't necessary to remove it entirely, but I did so that I could clean it. I had to remove the microwave from the range and then remove the cover from the microwave to determine the exact problem. After a visual inspection then discharging the high voltage capacitor, I used a meter to test the high voltage diode and fuses. After using the meter to ohm out the magnetron, I removed it from the unit, and seeing that the hole in the end of the magnetron's tube was enlarged and burnt, as if it was arcing, I assumed it was the bad part. Found a replacement stirrer motor from Appliance Parts Pros.com.The motor arrived in less than a week. I removed the old noisy motor and installed the new one. Placed a glass of water in the unit to test, and the new motor made it sound like brand new. The actual repair was quite simple. You just remove the grill on the top ,front of the unit.
