This is a small coupling washer that connects the ice crusher drive mechanism in the refrigerator's freezer compartment. It transfers rotational force from the motor to the ice crushing blades, allowing the dispenser to crush ice properly. Replace this part if the ice dispenser runs but does not crush ice, makes grinding noises, or if the coupler appears worn, cracked, or stripped.

Removed water catcher, then 4 screws in water/ice vault in door, then removed screws on door side (5) top (2) and bottom (2). Removed stainless door skin. This is an extension piece for the ice maker shut-off arm inside the freezer compartment. It lengthens the sensing arm so it can properly detect when the ice bin is full and signal the ice maker to stop producing ice. Replace this extension if the ice maker continuously produces ice and overfills the bin, or if the original extension is broken or missing.
