We scoured the web and there are few references to this so I want to add it in case it helps. Replacing hinges solved the popping opening issue. We could not solve our dishwasher door issue after a number of other tries: Latch, Catch, Ropes that attach to the springs that pull the door closed. I ordered a new detergent dispenser and control assembly, watched a few videos on you tube and dived in. The repairs were pretty simple once I got started and while I was doing this I went the extra step and cleaned out the drain. I would suggest doing this annually.
