This vent assembly allows hot, moist air to escape from the dishwasher tub during the drying cycle, helping dishes dry efficiently. It is typically located on the inner door panel and may include a duct and flap mechanism. Replace this assembly if dishes remain wet after the drying cycle, if you notice moisture or steam leaking from around the door, or if the vent flap is stuck or damaged.
Replaced Air Vent (+gasket). (Based on some googled descriptions of how.) Took out several screws in the vicinity of the vent on upper left of door. These are specialized torx screw heads. Released inner panel enough for air vent to slide out. It is held to the panel by the louvered round cover. Twist the cover to the left to remove it and the Air Vent comes loose. I tested the resistance of the old Air Vent and found it to be ~18 ohms. I had found on one site that it should be between 6 and... Read more

Replace your dishwasher's upper dishrack if it's cracked, rusted, or has damaged coating. This top shelf holds plates and bowls securely during wash cycles.
New upper dish rack. At 15 years old, the dishwasher is going strong but inevitable wear and tear ruined the dish rack. The video on the website is not specific to my model but I'm a little handy and was able to figure it out. If I had to do it again, I'd rate the difficulty as a 1, much of the time spent was figuring out how to push all the little plastic lock tabs and switching the rollers and upper water jet assembly from one rack to the other. Dishwasher not cleaning dishes or making loud grinding noises? This circulation pump and motor assembly restores spray pressure and quiet operation.
I called AppliancePartsPros, talked to a technician to validate problem, ordered part. I had a great talk with the technician. Told him I have electrical engineering experience, used to fix pinball machines and that the pinballs and home appliances were the same design, i.e. inductor in series with a switch across the hot lines. After that the conversation was like two long lost cousins talking at a family barbeque! Great customer service! Read more
Top rack spray arm that rotates to distribute water across upper dishes. Replace if cracked, broken, or not spinning freely to restore water coverage.
I discovered that the water inlet manifold was cracked. Installed the new part which greatly improved the issue but was not completely resolved. Upon further inspection it looked like the arm bearing had seen better days so, since the machine is ten years old I opted to replace the rest of the assembly. Parts came in a timely manner and the repair was easy - top rack dishes are now spotless! By the way I am a fifty something female with no prior dishwasher repair experience -... Read more
