  I emailed appliancepartspros.com with what my problem was and they informed me what was wrong they gave me a part number to order, tools needed and a brief explanation how replace the seal. they also have online video's for different repairs. I watched the video for lip seal(part # 207843) replacement.I also had to remove the brake assembly in order to replace the seal so I watched that video also.   Found the wonderful parts diagrams you most generously share online and a couple of YouTube videos . I determined it should be repairable. In my cast the agitator shaft was frozen (rusted) in place. I was very fortunate to have been able to eventually remove it with the use of a lot of BP penetrating oil and heat. I had to take the cover off of the transmission to see how the shaft was held in place. After discovering there is a plastic clip that holds the shaft in place i ordered the parts. replaced the shaft and the put the new plastic clip in place, made my own gasket and then put the transmission cover back on. easy fix and saved a lot of money.
