Small drive gear inside the washer transmission gearcase that meshes with mating gears. Replace when worn, stripped, or damaged to restore power transfer.
American appliances are very easy to fix in comparison to imported ones. Just open the washer and take de transmission cover out change the pinion inside removing a simple retainer. In the agitator there is a screw that you loosen it take it out, then de tub and take the shaft out and put a new seal and a new c clamp and reinstall everything back. The lid shut-off switch is located behind the lid How About That. I order the plastic ball the hold the lid in place plus the lid shut off switch. I watched the video that AppliancePartsPros.com has on how to replace the lid and the plastic balls.
