Dishwasher Micro Switch
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 3W40025L

The Dishwasher Micro Switch is an OEM part for LG dishwashers. It plays a crucial role in detecting the door's position, ensuring the dishwasher only operates when the door is securely closed. This switch helps maintain safety and proper functioning during the wash cycle.

Causes of a bad micro switch can include wear and tear from regular use, electrical malfunctions, or physical damage. A compromised micro switch can prevent the dishwasher from starting or stopping correctly.

Symptoms of a bad dishwasher micro switch include:

  • The dishwasher not starting or stopping unexpectedly
  • Error codes related to door issues
  • The door not locking securely during operation
  • Unresponsive control panel or buttons

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lg dishwasher “ne” or “ue” error code (vario spray arm).   Dimitri T. • Cranston , RI • February 26, 2019

This was a very simple repair. It was done in about an hour. It involves disconnecting the dishwasher, emptying the water from the inside, taking it out and flipping it over, and replacing the diverter motor. This repair is done on the underside of the dishwasher, nothing to disconnect inside (just remember to remove the baskets). It would be wise to order the motor seal and micro switch that goes with it as they are all cheap parts and easy to swap out during the procedure. Be sure to take... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You 0e drainage error code   Christopher L. • Walnut Creek , CA • February 24, 2015

So all of a sudden the dishwasher stops working, "0E error"on the panel. Did some google searches and found that it might be the filter, which I did not know needed to be changed, or worse, the motor. Took the filter off per online tutorial (easy) and mopped up all the stagnant water. Poking around, I find the small rubber check valve that has broken. Had to fish it out with tweezers. Long story short, it was not the motor and I doubt it was the filter. It was this $1.87 rubber drainage... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Main wash motor froze and then burned out the controller too i had to buy a new motor so the completely assembled sump with all motors and valves and heating element was a real steal for +$10   Mike K. • Fort Collins , CO • May 01, 2015

I bought a new controller first and installed it. The exact replacement controller was no longer available and I had to modify two AC connectors that changed from 3 pins with two wires to two pins with two wires. This was not expected but I made it work just fine by getting the three pin connectors on the cable to fit the two pin by breaking out the center web in the board two pin and then shaving off the raised key plastic on the wires. Then on power up, I found that the wash motor did not... Read more

I replaced the upper nozzle guide, nozzle shaft and upper spray arm. I also replaced the pump gasket for good measure. Top rack dishes had not been cleaning properly. I first removed the filter assembly to inspect the main pump from above. It was clogged but after cleaning and reassembly I observed that while middle and bottom spray arms were changing position, the upper spray arm was not. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lg dishwasher door was just falling when opened   Arthur H. • Virginia Beach , VA • December 06, 2014

I went to AppliancePartsPros.com and looked at the parts breakdown for the door. I had assumed a broken spring or cable so I found and ordered them. Having never changed them on an LG, I watched the video. I now new what to do. The hardest part of the whole job was pulling out the dishwasher to get at the springs and cables. There was enough slack in the hoses and wire to get it out without disconnecting them. Start to finish took less than thirty minutes. Read more

Thanks to LG NOT sending the parts THEY say are included with the dishwasher, I had to buy them in order to install the appliance. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Loud grinding sound motor rattling   Marvin L. • Sandy , UT • November 09, 2014

My project involved replacing the sump assembly and main motor on my LG dishwasher. The parts arrive in about 2-3 days. Wow, FAST! With the help of videos from LG I knew what to do. The trick with the whole project was ensuring that I transferred ALL gaskets from the old sump assembly to the new one. I missed transferring one around a sensor, then did not get the gasket around the pump motor properly. Once all those were correct all leaks stopped, new motor is whisper quiet (all I hear now is... I replaced the dishwasher circulation motor. I also replaced the impeller assembly, although it turns out that was not necessary. Actually replacing the motor was straightforward: Remove the upper and lower racks. Turn off the breaker and water supply. Disconnect power, supply water and drain hose. Slide out the dishwasher.
