This particular radiant heater is the largest element on the cooktop. In the event that the burner is not heating up, this part may need to be replaced as there could be an element that is burned out. It may begin to heat up but won't get hot enough to cook correctly. Removed lid sanded down all rust spots, taped over the printed instructions on the inside of the lid, washed with alcohol and spray painted with appliance white epoxy paint.
