This 1-1/8 in wire retaining ring locks into a groove to secure components in place. It helps prevent parts from sliding off a shaft or shifting out of position so assemblies stay aligned and operate reliably.
Based on recommendation to replace the clutch if clothes aren't spinning dry enough, I ordered a new clutch. Upon disassembly, I observed no Ring Wire/C-Clip and that the bearing appeared worn. Where did the clip go? Well, the bearing wore down such that it wore out the clip and bearing up to the sleeve of the shaft. Knocked out the old bearing, tapped in the new and was done. I disassembled the brake shoes but believe you can get the bearing in and out without doing so. Not a bad job, just... Read more

This 3-speed drive motor powers the washer's agitation and spin cycles. Replacing a weak or failed motor restores proper wash action and spin performance so loads complete reliably.
Started out as a replacement of the coupling between the motor and the basket transmission ( 2 of the 3 legs on the transmission side broken.. )... Bought a new pump, since I would have it off... or so I thought.. Metal output shaft into pump + years of moisture = pump rusted on. Put it all back together - runs fine... for a while.. Then the old pump bearings burn out. Back apart.. Cut the old pump off the motor. Reinstall everything... Nothing, Just sits there and buzzes... Now... Read more

This was the second attempt at fixing this problem. The first repair and parts were generated by listing the problem and reviewing the potential corrections, listed on the web site. From making repairs on other clothes washers, I was confident that some of those potential causes could have been the cause. Unfortunately the counterbalance spring and suspension springs were not the cause as they were attached as intended and in good condition. I reached out for Appliance Parts Pros input... Read more
This three-speed drive motor powers the wash and spin functions in select top-load washers. Replace it to restore proper agitation and spin when the original motor is weak, seized, humming, or not running.
My Kenmore washer had three problems and thanks to AppliancePartsPros.com videos I was able to repair all three. The washer coupler was defective so I replaced it. This topok about 30 minutes. The washer lid switch was defective. This took about an hour. Finally, the motor was defective. I was able to disconnect the motor from the transmission and test the motor by leaving the wiring connected and run a wash cycle. The motor was dead. I replaced it with a new motor and now the washer runs... Read more
This is an inner tub basket intended for use with washing machines and combination washers and dryers. It is located inside the washing machine in the middle of the appliance. The inner tub basket is responsible for holding clothing during a washing cycle. It has an agitator in the middle and sides with holes so that water can leave when the tub is spinning. It is attached to the outer tub, which seals in the water. The inner tub basket can become damaged and cause loud noises, leak, or fail to drain. If this occurs, this component will need to be replaced. Basic tools will be needed for the process. Make sure the washing machine is unplugged for safety. The hoses will need to be removed before taking out the inner tub basket and replacing it with a new one. The inner tub basket is sold on an individual basis. It is an authentic OEM replacement part that is sourced directly from the manufacture. This part is compatible with washing machines and washer/dryer combination appliances made by Inglis, Estate, Admiral, Crosley, Roper, Magic Chef, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Kenmore, and Whirlpool.
Ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPros - super fast shipping, and even though I opted for regular shipping all of my parts arrived the very next day, including the big and bulky inner basket. Disassembly went smoothly, simply following the directions in the AppliancePartsPros video. The only problem I had was that the inner basket simply would NOT come of the drive block no matter what I did. Struggled for a few hours trying to take it off. Then, I called AppliancePartsPros and they said it... Read more

This retainer ring is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on front load washing machines to hold the boot seal in place. The boot seal is the gasket that seals the washing machine when the door is closed to prevent water from leaking. The retainer ring is located flush against the boot seal and has either a spring clamp or screw clamp that secures it. Over time, this ring may become damaged due to the washing machine's normal use and age. If the ring is not tight, the washing machine could leak when in use. If water is coming from the door, it is a good idea to inspect and replace the retainer ring and possibly the boot as well.Unplug the washing machine to prevent electrocution. Remove the front panel, the detergent dispenser, and the kickplate to access the retainer ring. Locate the clamp on the ring and loosen it. Remove the retainer ring and set it to the side. Inspect the boot and then install the new retainer ring. Tighten the clamp and reassemble the washing machine. This retainer ring is sold as an individual unit. It is designed specifically for washing machines manufactured by Whirlpool.
Im not a repairman, so all my knowledge to fix my washer came from either youtube or online chats. I posted this to help the next dad trying to save a few bucks. Door sensor... Replaced direct drive washer pump, the wash tub gasket and the fill hose. I also replaced the direct drive motor coupling since the rubber was deteriorated. Removing the inner wash tub for the gasket change is challenging, especially in older machines. 24 hours before starting the removal, spray penetrating oil around the lip of the washer drive block. Parts were competitively priced and arrived very quickly. The how-to-videos were very helpful! Read more

This agitator drive shaft sits inside the washer's gearcase and transfers motion to the agitator. Replacing a worn or stripped shaft restores firm engagement and reliable wash action while helping reduce slip and grinding during agitation.
I had to replace the drive shaft and the lower agitator. The motor coupling was also worn out. The repair was challenging because I had to rebuild the gear box. This step was really messy and I had to wait for the liquid gasket to set prior to completing the repair. Cleaning and prep of all of the parts tripled the repair time. Read more
