Fix a washer that won't drain, spin, or stops mid-cycle. This lid switch is a common fix for stackable laundry centers. DIY repair in 20-60 minutes.
I did some online research at this website and others and decided that the lid switch was bad. I checked the local appliance parts suppliers and they were all higher than APP and no one had it in stock. When I ordered the lid switch from APP at a big savings even with shipping, I received it the next afternoon and could have had it earlier if I had not been at the end of the drivers route. I received it in 27 hours. The whole job took less than an hour and it fixed the problem. I can't... Read more

This is a felt seal strip that attaches to the front bulkhead panel of the dryer where the drum meets the front of the cabinet. It creates a soft barrier that prevents heated air from escaping and keeps clothing from getting caught between the drum and the panel. Replace this seal if your dryer is taking too long to dry clothes, you feel hot air leaking from the front, or you hear squeaking or scraping sounds as the drum turns.
First I watched videos about squeaking Kenmore dryers. Then I used that information to open the dryer, diagnosing the fact that the roller on the drum belt tension arm had broken and actually fallen off the arm. The dryer was filled with lint and dust/dirt, so I also saw that the seals on the dryer had deteriorated greatly. AppliancePartsPros website is outstanding, far better than its competitors. This made it easy to find the parts and videos that I needed. It took hours to pull everything... Read more
