Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The bearing on the dryer drum wore out so bad the ball fell off   Thomas J. • Green Bay , WI • October 31, 2016

I replaced the ball and socket connection for the drum. After doing so, I realized that the belt had been stretched and the tension pulley was not putting enough tension on the belt to turn the drum. After ordering a new belt, extra screw that was lost while disassembling the dryer, and some high temperature lubricant for the drum ball and socket the dryer now runs as well as it did when it was new. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven and refrigerator handles did not match   Lisa H. • Murfreesboro , TN • August 29, 2014

Our oven and refrigerator are different brands (Bosch and LG), and the handles were different. It was a minor thing, but I finally decided to order LG handles for my oven from AppliancePartsPros.com. The handles fit perfectly with some screws that my husband had on hand (none were supplied with the handles, and the Bosch screws were too long). Also, the finish is spot on. I couldn't be happier. Tub Seal
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 5303279394

The Tub Seal is an OEM part for Frigidaire washing machines. It is designed to create a water-tight seal between the washing machine tub and the transmission or drive system. This seal prevents water from leaking out during the operation of the washer and protects the mechanical components from water damage.

Symptoms of a failing tub seal include:

  • Water leaking from the underside of the washing machine.
  • Increased moisture or puddles forming under the machine during use.
  • A musty or moldy smell, indicating that water has been seeping and not properly drying.

Causes of a bad tub seal can include aging and wear over time, exposure to harsh detergents that degrade the material of the seal, or mechanical stress from unbalanced loads that can cause the seal to fail. It's important to address these issues promptly to prevent further damage to the washing machine.

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

This part fixes the following symptoms
  • Leaking

Idler Pulley
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 131862900

The Idler Pulley is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. It helps guide and maintain tension on the dryer drum belt, ensuring the drum rotates smoothly during the drying cycle.

Over time, the idler pulley can wear out due to friction and regular use, or it may become damaged from excessive strain or misalignment. If the idler pulley fails, the dryer drum may not rotate properly, leading to inefficient drying or a complete inability to dry clothes.

Symptoms of a bad Idler Pulley include:

  • Squeaking or squealing noises during operation
  • The drum not rotating or rotating unevenly
  • The belt appearing loose or slipping off the drum

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

This part fixes the following symptoms
  • Burning smell

Agitator Hub
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 134418700

The Agitator Hub is an OEM part for Frigidaire washing machines. It connects the agitator to the drive shaft, enabling the agitator to rotate and move clothes effectively during the wash cycle.

Causes of a bad agitator hub can include wear and tear from frequent use, exposure to harsh detergents or hard water, or damage from overloading the washer.

Symptoms of a bad agitator hub include:

  • Agitator not moving or rotating properly
  • Loud noises or grinding sounds during the wash cycle
  • Clothes not being cleaned effectively
  • The washer shaking or vibrating excessively

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The agitator was not working   John H. • Auburn , NY • October 11, 2016

The agitator stopped functioning and there was a squeaking sound occurring in agitation mode. I found that if I cranked down on the agitator cap, screwing in as hard as I could, the agitator would work briefly, then the cap would loosen and agitator stop moving. I removed the agitator cap, along with which came the agitator stud cap and a rubber washer/seal which was jammed up into the underside of the cap. I lifted out the agitator from the drum and inspected it and the hub best I could.... Read more

Trunnion (Washer Inner Tub Hub)
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 131545101

The trunnion is the hub that mounts the washer's inner tub to the drive shaft. Replacing a worn hub restores a solid, centered connection so the basket spins smoothly without wobble, slip, or grinding. What it does:

  • Secures and centers the spin basket on the drive shaft for balanced rotation
  • Transfers drive torque to the inner tub during spin
  • Helps maintain basket alignment to reduce vibration
  • Typical symptoms of failure: loose/wobbly tub, scraping or grinding noises, poor or no spin, frequent out-of-balance events
What's included:
  • 1 trunnion
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and water before service; wear gloves and eye protection
  • Access the hub by removing top/access parts, then the agitator/wash plate and inner-tub fasteners
  • Clean the shaft and mating surfaces; seat the new trunnion fully and tighten fasteners evenly in a crisscross pattern
  • Inspect related parts (tub seal, bolts, bearing) while open and replace if worn; run a short test cycle to ensure smooth spin

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking washer tub   Hugh S. • Miami , FL • June 25, 2016

The seal at the bottom of the tub had started to fail. On large loads water would leak so I ordered a new one rubber seal. Getting the trunnion off the transmission shaft was hard as it was calcified and corroded. I used a wire brush to get some of it off and then used a lot of WD-40. The bolt holding the trunnion plate on sheared off when I tried to remove it on one side and the other came out ok (the bolt hole through the trunnion is not threaded so it should slide out once the plate is off... Transmission
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 134737100

This is a transmission assembly for washing machines. The transmission assembly is the gearbox in the washing machine's motor that allows the washing machine to work at different speeds and different intensities. If the washing machine is no longer spinning properly and has lost its normal level of washing power, it could mean that the transmission assembly needs to be replaced. Luckily, replacing this part is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. To replace the transmission assembly, begin by unplugging the washing machine. The first step is to remove the upper control panel. Pull forward on the bottom of the console and remove the two retaining clips as well as the harness connector to the lid switch. Using a flathead screwdriver remove the clips. After this, remove the entire cabinet from the back panel to gain access to the interior of the washer. Remove the 7/16 bolt from the agitator and pull it straight up to remove it from the shaft. Once completed, gain access to the motor and pump and remove by releasing the screws and tabs that attach it. Remove the wire harness attached to the transmission. Remove the bolts that secure the motor mount to the transmission and proceed to pull the old transmission out of its place. Install the new transmission and reassemble the other parts. This genuine OEM replacement part is compatible with Frigidaire, Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Westinghouse washers. It is sold individually.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking water pump worn out belt   Shane T. • Sauk City , WI • November 21, 2014

I replaced the worn parts. Removed the electric motor/pump assembly then took it to my motorcycle repair shop to clean/maintenance the motor, remove the old pump because it was stuck on the motor shaft. Once removed I blew out dust/debris from the motor w/compressed air. Sanded and filed the corrosion off the shaft, applied a "sealing grease" of sorts to the shaft to make potential future removal easier and reassembled. I took the whole wamma jamma home, reinstalled and wah-la, fixed. I am... Read more
