This active vent assembly controls airflow from the dishwasher during and after a cycle, releasing humid air at the right time for better drying. Replacing a faulty vent can reduce lingering moisture and steam escaping from the door.
- Regulates and directs moist air out of the tub during the dry portion of the cycle
- Closes during wash to help contain water and heat inside the dishwasher
- Helps reduce interior condensation and improve overall drying results
- Common failure symptoms: dishes not drying, moisture remaining after the cycle, steam escaping at the top of the door, or unusual noise from the vent area
What's included: 1 active vent assembly Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing; allow the unit to cool
- Access is typically through the inner door panel; retain and reuse mounting hardware as required
- Inspect and correctly seat the vent seal to prevent steam leaks
- After installation, run a test cycle to check for proper vent operation and sealing

Maytag dishwasher going into reset (washer stopped start button light flashing) David P. • Queen Creek , AZ • February 01, 2019
Originally replaced non-resettable overload. No help. Contacted Appliance Pros. Advised to measure vent wax motor resistance. Way too high (>2k ohms). Replaced vent assembly. Bingo. All is well. Thank you Appliance Pros, once again!
