• Won't start

I ordered the Door Switch Kit, along with a few other items. However, the switch kit was all that was needed. Isimply followed the instructions that came with the kit. It was necessary to cut the wires which connected to the wire assembly in the door of the dishwasher. I then connected the pieces from the switch kit and then connected the end pieces to the door. I closed the door, and started up the dishwasher. It worked as well as before. Read more

We put in the door latch and it did not fix problem so we installed the control panel and bingo it worked. So I'll return the handle soon but will not take the door latch off. This was the best experience ever - no repairman to call and wait on and no hassles. Thank you for your help and cooperation. Greatly appreciated - I actually dealt with Robin Hartness - awesome. Replaced control panel. This is the second replacement due to the same problem with this Maytag dishwasher. The exact cause of the failure is not obvious, but replacing the $130 panel is a quick and easy fix rather than tracking down all the electrical failures in the cable and attempting a permanent fix. The dishwasher performs well otherwise and I believe it has a lot of life left in it. I may well end up replacing the panel again before buying a new unit. Read more
