• Light not working

When diagnosing the problem, I discovered that the ice door was not properly sealing and that the solenoid had appeared to rust/corrode forcing the door open. I replaced most of the ice dispenser internals (solenoid, crank, door, and spring) following the video. The door will now open when dispensing ice (which it does!), and will oddly stay open for a few seconds once I am finished, but does seal properly and the chute/container no longer frosts over. After doing a lot of web searching about the problem. It all came down to AppliancePartsPros.com. Watching the repair videos and learning what to do made the job a breeze. The only difficult problem was to thaw out the ice build up on the coils, which took 2 hours. The rest was easy. now I have a freezer/ fridge that is working like new. The old Ice stripper had broken fingers. I realized that even with the new one I had to shave some of the plastic to allow the rotating arms to clear as they push out the ice. I did this very easily with a box cutter razor blade. the Compartment tray was merely a remove and snap into place. Read more

Replaced both the Dispenser Lever and Funnel. I probably wouldn't have attempted this had it not been for the how to videos on your website. The video clearly showed how and how simple it was. The video could be improved even more by addressing how to position the micro-switch that activates the ice maker. Read more

The problem was most likely the evaporator fan motor but it could have been a bad blade, loose parts or bad motor mounts. Hard to tell without taking everything apart and inspecting. Since fridge was 17 years old I decided to order the entire evaporator fan assembly as shown in the parts diagram including fan blade, motor brackets, motor, motor mounts, screws, etc. Getting to the assembly involved removing the ice maker unit plus the entire rear inside of the freezer section.
