Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bearings were worn out makeing a lot of noise   Lawrence L. • Largo , FL • August 08, 2015

I had a lot of problems removing the spin hub, I had to use an air impact wrench to un screw it even then it was very hard, it did not go easy with the hammer & pipe wrench as shown in the video. It was also very hard to remove the bottom spin bearing I had to cut the bearing retainer with a dremel tool so I could get my puller on it. After I struggled to get it apart The repair went very easy, I used brake spring pliers to remove the springs it worked like a charm. I am very pleased with... Read more

1.) Made sure BOTH Hot & Cold Water Lines turned off to Maytag Washer. (I have dual shut-off valve for those two water lines), 2.) Briefly ran Washer on Warm Water Setting, removing water pressure & remaining water from Hot & Cold water lines. 3.) Unplugged Washing Machine. 4.) Used Needle Nose Pliers to remove BOTH Hot & Cold Water hoses from the hookup on the back of the washer. 3.) Made sure I had an empty bucket, on hand, to catch remaining water that may come out of now-removed, hot &... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking water pump worn out belt   Shane T. • Sauk City , WI • November 21, 2014

I replaced the worn parts. Removed the electric motor/pump assembly then took it to my motorcycle repair shop to clean/maintenance the motor, remove the old pump because it was stuck on the motor shaft. Once removed I blew out dust/debris from the motor w/compressed air. Sanded and filed the corrosion off the shaft, applied a "sealing grease" of sorts to the shaft to make potential future removal easier and reassembled. I took the whole wamma jamma home, reinstalled and wah-la, fixed. I am... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Mavt634aww grinding noise in wash cycle no movement in tub   Robert W. • San Angelo , TX • October 19, 2016

While trying to remove tub seal hub (which came off in six pieces I call it a "TOUGH" hub) I accidentally cracked the outside tub. I have received the new HT transmission which came with a new tub seal kit PN W102119156. I ordered a seal kit when I ordered the transmission not knowing it came with a tub seal. I also ordered an outside tub it is on manufacture back order. AppliancePartsPros.com is keeping me up to date on the back order part, The hub was the hardest part to remove. The video's... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Tub was never balanced during spin   Joseph R. • East Brunswick , NJ • March 17, 2014

I replaced the friction ring, counter balance spring and all six of the tub rings. Though not a terribly difficult repair it was time consuming as the cabinet had to come completely off to access the rear of the tub. Once all of the springs were removed it was easy to slide the tub to the side, tip it and remove the old ring. Replacing it was just as easy. Replacing all the springs was made more difficult due to the additional tension the new springs had. I believe the total repair took me... Read more
