Blower Wheel
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WE16M15

The Blower Wheel is an OEM replacement part for GE dryers. It has a role in the air circulation within the dryer, aiding in the even and efficient drying of clothes. The blower wheel, connected to the motor, helps in expelling the moist air out of the dryer through the exhaust vent during the drying cycle.

Causes of a malfunctioning blower wheel are typically wear and tear from regular use, the accumulation of lint or debris, or damage to the wheel’s fins or central hub, which can impact its rotation and air circulation capability.

Symptoms of a bad Blower Wheel include:

  • Unusual noises during operation
  • Extended drying times
  • The dryer overheating
  • Reduced air circulation

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Clamp And Screw Kit
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WE1X688

The GE clamp and screw kit is an OEM replacement part responsible for securing the dryer blower wheel in place. This kit consists of two clamps and a screw, designed to ensure the blower wheel remains firmly attached to the motor shaft. The clamp maintains the blower wheel's stability and prevents it from coming loose during the drying process. The blower wheel creates the airflow necessary to circulate hot air and efficiently dry clothes.

Over time, clamps and screws can become loose or corroded due to regular use, vibrations, or exposure to moisture. Improper handling during maintenance or repairs can also lead to damage or loss of these small but essential parts.

Symptoms of a bad Clamp and Screw Kit include:

  • Loose or rattling components within the dryer
  • Parts becoming misaligned or detached
  • Unusual noises during dryer operation
  • Difficulty in securing dryer parts during repairs

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Blower fan had come loose and was hitting the inside of the housing   Chris R. • Ridgeland , MS • February 08, 2015

Had to remove the front and top panel on the dryer, disconnect the belt and remove the drum. From there it was two screws to slide out the motor assembly with the fan attached and one bolt to remove the clamp and screw kit holding the fan in place. They kit was worn and was allowing the fan to move forward and back on the motor shaft. Once replaced it took about 5 minutes to reassemble and my dryer now purs like a kitten. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer heating for only a short time then no heat at all   David N. • Fairfax , CA • December 08, 2018

GE Gas Dryer Model DBVH512GF1WW began to heat for only a short amount of time so drying clothes took WAY too long. Read online that the first thing to replace are the solenoids. Bought the two solenoids from AppliancePartsPros.com for about $50 total, and it seems to have fixed the problem. Had to watch a few videos to learn to disassemble the dryer, and the job took a couple of hours, but now that I know what I'm doing it could be done in less than 30 minutes. Dryer Motor Kit
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WE17X10010

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer motor hums but won't turn over   Joel B. • Baytown , TX • December 17, 2016

I could hear the dryer motor hum, but it would not run. There was nothing obstructing the motor from turning freely so I assumed I needed a new motor. I went ahead and ordered a new pulley switch to change out while I was in there just in case. The parts arrived faster than expected. High Limit Thermostat
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WE4M80

This replacement part is a high-limit thermostat, and it is intended for use in different types of appliances. This is a genuine replacement part made by General Electric. This high-limit thermostat is typically found in dryers and controls the heat inside the drying tub. This is especially important as different dryer settings require different amounts of heat. If the high limit thermostat works properly, the temperature inside the tub should reach the correct amount during each drying cycle with no issues. A new high-limit thermostat might be needed if the user notices that the dryer is unable to reach the appropriate level of heat for a certain drying cycle. This is also true if the dryer is becoming too hot when the heat is supposed to be set to low. Make sure the dryer is cooled down prior to replacing this part as the areas in the back of the dryer can become very hot during use. Be sure to reference the specific user manual for more instructions on how to replace the thermostat. This thermostat is sold individually and is a genuine OEM part. The thermostat is sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Two baffles had torn out as the screw heads came through the holes   Scott B. • Katy , TX • December 21, 2015

I ordered two new baffles and 7 screws. I also ordered 6 large washers. We were running with one baffle held by only 2 of 3 screws. It appears that a repairman in the past had removed the large washers and over time, the screw heads reamed out the hole, causing the baffles to detach and break.
