Lid Switch Assembly (Washer), Kit
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool

  • Requires pressing or jiggling the lid to run; no audible "click" when closing the lid
What's included: 1 lid switch assembly kit Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing
  • Access the switch under the top/console area; remove the old switch/bracket as designed
  • Route wiring along the original path and secure away from moving parts

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The timer and on/off knobs broke   Joseph C. • Wakefield , VA • January 31, 2015

First I used epoxy which I do not recommend since it can interfere with the later replacement of new knobs. The replacement of new knobs went easily with the exception of getting the epoxy off. Getting the epoxy off is difficult and required a Dremel to cut the plastic and slip joint pliers to peel the plastic off. Read more
