My repair went really great! I now have a new automatic soap dispenser that costs me only $60 to buy the part. I guess I would have paid at least $150 if not more to have a repair guy come in and do it but the video was just amazing! I did it myself and my husband could not believe it! When he came home from work he was already to "get it done" but I had beat him too it. Great site! I ordered the part and watched the video which was VERY easy to follow. I will always look here for parts... Read more

Found a service manual that is close enough to my GE dishwasher. Service Manual for GE Dishwasher-EDW4000 was found on the following webpage. http://www.applianceaid.com/pdf/serv-man-EDW4000.pdf Gives enough information to test out the dishwasher. Read it, check out Factory Test Mode. GE should have given this out as a normal User Manual. The usual user manual lack anything to help troubleshoot a problem. Read more
This is a genuine OEM replacement lower spray arm bearing sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in dishwashers. The lower spray arm spins to distribute water to the dishes during the wash cycle. Thus spray arm bearing supports the spray arm and lessens the friction, which allows it to spin more easily. If the dishes are not clean after the wash and rinse cycle, or the arm is making loud noises, the spin arm bearing may need to be replaced. This bearing is a small metal part that may wear over time. If the bearing is distorted or damaged, the arm will not sit level, and spinning may be very loud, or it may not spin. The spray arm bearing should be replaced. Turn off the breaker or disconnect the power to the dishwasher. Open the dishwasher and pull the bottom rack out. Turn the lower spray arm counterclockwise to remove it. Use a telescoping magnet to pull the bearing up from the hole in the middle. Install the new bearing and reinstall the spray arm. Put the dishrack back inside and reconnect the power. This lower spray arm bearing is a gray metal part that is sold individually. It is designed for use in dishwashers designed by General Electric and Hotpoint.
