Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Spray arms and bearings were worn screens were clogged and pump connectors were deteriorated and leaking   Chris L. • Gorham , ME • March 14, 2017

I replaced the upper and mid spray arms and bearings, removed filters and screens and cleaned everything. Pulled pump and replaced the connector and the collection sump. Repair took about 3 hours and went very smoothly thanks to the AppliancePros video! I'm on the east coast so I could not believe it when the parts arrived less than 24 hours after I placed the order! Prices were great too . . . I'm a customer for life and my dishwasher cleans the dishes like new now! Read more

My repair went really great! I now have a new automatic soap dispenser that costs me only $60 to buy the part. I guess I would have paid at least $150 if not more to have a repair guy come in and do it but the video was just amazing! I did it myself and my husband could not believe it! When he came home from work he was already to "get it done" but I had beat him too it. Great site! I ordered the part and watched the video which was VERY easy to follow. I will always look here for parts... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Start button would not work   Ian S. • Plantation , FL • May 29, 2016

Removed the inner cover screws and cover. The outside cover is attached at the bottom with hinges. I closed the inner door and propped up the outside cover. The panel was removed easily as its attachmented with a sticker. The plug is attached with a clasp, beware of breaking it. Mine was corroded. So I used a wire brush on the prongs before replacing. The brackets on the top are tricky to replace. Other than that very easy repare. Read more

Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WD01X10094

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking water   Stephen M. • Vineland , NJ • April 19, 2021

This was not an obvious source of a leak. The Tower Heater Assembly Nut developed a crack over time due to heat exposure. So the leak was gradual slowly getting worse over time. It was a hairline crack that ran down one of the edges of the nut making it hard to see. In talking to a pro he said it isn't a common problem. It is all the way in the back of the bottom of the dishwasher so it is not something you can see without pulling the dishwasher out and running it. The repair itself is easy. I... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Heavy residue left on dishes, spray arms clogging and the wife wanted a new dishwasher.   Robert T. • Spanish Fort , AL • August 20, 2019

The inlet sump was deteriorating and pieces of it were clogging the spray arms. The gasket/seal on the bottom of the door was also deteriorated and clogging the filters. That seal was only available on a new inner door. It took a few hours because of the new inner door and I was taking my time doing extra cleaning and such. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Flashing selection light: i think it fixed the problem by changing out the heating element   Michael A. • Henderson , NV • April 19, 2015

Found a service manual that is close enough to my GE dishwasher. Service Manual for GE Dishwasher-EDW4000 was found on the following webpage. http://www.applianceaid.com/pdf/serv-man-EDW4000.pdf Gives enough information to test out the dishwasher. Read it, check out Factory Test Mode. GE should have given this out as a normal User Manual. The usual user manual lack anything to help troubleshoot a problem. Read more
