I replaced the upper and mid spray arms and bearings, removed filters and screens and cleaned everything. Pulled pump and replaced the connector and the collection sump. Repair took about 3 hours and went very smoothly thanks to the AppliancePros video! I'm on the east coast so I could not believe it when the parts arrived less than 24 hours after I placed the order! Prices were great too . . . I'm a customer for life and my dishwasher cleans the dishes like new now! Read more
My repair went really great! I now have a new automatic soap dispenser that costs me only $60 to buy the part. I guess I would have paid at least $150 if not more to have a repair guy come in and do it but the video was just amazing! I did it myself and my husband could not believe it! When he came home from work he was already to "get it done" but I had beat him too it. Great site! I ordered the part and watched the video which was VERY easy to follow. I will always look here for parts... Read more

Removed the inner cover screws and cover. The outside cover is attached at the bottom with hinges. I closed the inner door and propped up the outside cover. The panel was removed easily as its attachmented with a sticker. The plug is attached with a clasp, beware of breaking it. Mine was corroded. So I used a wire brush on the prongs before replacing. This was not an obvious source of a leak. The Tower Heater Assembly Nut developed a crack over time due to heat exposure. So the leak was gradual slowly getting worse over time. It was a hairline crack that ran down one of the edges of the nut making it hard to see. In talking to a pro he said it isn't a common problem. It is all the way in the back of the bottom of the dishwasher so it is not something you can see without pulling the dishwasher out and running it. The repair itself is easy. I... Read more

The inlet sump was deteriorating and pieces of it were clogging the spray arms. The gasket/seal on the bottom of the door was also deteriorated and clogging the filters. That seal was only available on a new inner door. It took a few hours because of the new inner door and I was taking my time doing extra cleaning and such. It was worth it because the dishwasher does an amazing job now and the wife is happy again. We wanted to avoid buying a new one because this one matches our other... Read more
Found a service manual that is close enough to my GE dishwasher. Service Manual for GE Dishwasher-EDW4000 was found on the following webpage. http://www.applianceaid.com/pdf/serv-man-EDW4000.pdf Gives enough information to test out the dishwasher.
