Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You We had an f1 error on our frigadare stove   Greg C. • Cincinnati , OH • March 20, 2015

Ordered a new clock/timer control. This was very easy to install the real trick was removing about 8 wires and 4 plug in connectors from the board and then reinstalling them back in the same location as the were before. I took a photo of the board with my IPhone before taking all the wires off, this made it very easy to reinstall the wires on the same terminals as before. There are 2 additional connectors on the board that a flat ribbon cable from the touch button panel attaches to. Do not just... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Actual temperatures way below desired   Sherrie P. • Palm Harbor , FL • February 07, 2016

I tested the temp probe first and found resistance to be ok at 1088 ohms (spec is 1000 to 1100 ohms) so that pointed to the control board being faulty. Remove all four control knobs by simply pulling on them. Then unscrew the four black plastic nuts holding the control panel assembly in place. Flip panel forward then... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven door would not close tightly   Seth B. • Needham , MA • January 02, 2015

I bought replacement hinges and installed them myself. The hardest part of the job was the first part: to remove the oven door you have to lock the old hinges with small brackets, and one side did not want to lock--I had to use a hammer. The door was heavier than it looks, but the only challenge after that was the fact that the edges of the door parts were sharp. I probably should have worn gloves when handling them. You have to take the door apart to insert the new hinges, but it's just... Read more
