1.) Located where the water leak was coming from in the refrigerator. 2.) Unplugged the refrigerator. 3.) Shut off the water supply to the refrigerator. 4.) Unscrewed the back cardboard panel. 5.) Unscrewed the Water Valve attached to the side of the refrigerator (one screw). 6.) Disconnected the three electrical plugs on the water valve. I am a 76 year old woman and hesitated to tackle the job. But my son sent me a Utube video "how to replace the board," and I was able to replace it, surprisingly, quite easily. Condenser fan stopped on my big 2003 Monogram 4 foot wide ZIS480D Refrigerator. It is top mounted. The fridge had to be rolled out. 20 screws removed and the top sheet metal to get at the condenser. That was the only way to get at it. Works like new now. Read more

I had found that the fan in the freezer was making a lot of noise. Turns out the shaft was loose, causing the flan blade to wobble. Replaced the motor and fan and now it runs like a new unit. Read more

Changed fan motor, rubber grommets, and dust cover. It sounded like the vibrating sound was being caused by the motor. But, come to find out I had a chipped blade on one of the fan blades. Initially cleaned -wife using smaller hands. Better idea to review why there is no SOP on the matter, and replace the part. While pricing the door discovered nice pricing on drip tray, and while at it the touch pad was cracking, as well as the freezer slide out handles broke (and we thought they were just covers), so bought all we thought we could use. I looked for a site that sold replacement parts for my make of GE refrigerator. I found AppliancePartsPros, and was very surprised at how organized it was. By entering the model number of my refrigerator, I was shown a set of (approximately) 8 general parts diagrams for my refrigerator. I chose the ice making/dispensing diagram. I changed the motherboard - computer and also changed the motor in the freezer, because it was doing a howling sound every time it turned on. The repair technician asked for $500 for a repair and that is on top of the $230 I paid him two days before. I looked up the parts and decided to try myself and it paid off. This was a two and half year issue as different things failed at different times. I would get one part, then another would fail. Ultimately, I got to a point where what failed, I hadn't been ordered the part yet. The seal on the freezer door took three bathing's before it plumped up and un-creased.
